Sharyn Haddad Vicente, Author

An Amazon Bestselling Author, Sharyn Haddad Vicente, has released four Psychological Thrillers: Love Me, Obey Me, and Forgive Me. Stop Me, Book 4 in the Paige Vale Psychological Thriller Series, is Sharyn’s latest novel, which ends the series, and was published this summer. She has contributed several short stories to literary magazines and anthologies.

Sharyn has a knack for transporting readers into the depths of her characters’ twisted minds, where they can uncover the haunting truth—we all have some darkness buried within.

A writer, educator, and artist, Sharyn is a lifelong Rhode Islander. She lives there with her husband of 40 years and her adult children. She received a Master’s degree in Adult Education from the University of Rhode Island, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rhode Island College—both of which continue to help her craft her bone-chilling prose. Sharyn also teaches writing courses at the Community College of Rhode Island.

What comes first, the plot or the characters?

For me, it is definitely the plot. I start out with one main theme and build around it. The characters create themselves within the story.

What kind of research do you do, and how long do you spend researching before beginning a book?

I do extensive research—everything from weather conditions, sun rise/sun set times, and types of employment my characters have. I spend a lot of time on research so that the story can be as factual as possible.

How much time do you spend writing?

Once the research is complete, I try to write at least 1,000 words at a time –which takes approximately six to eight hours. Luckily, I’m a night owl!
